Conservation of published works
Over the years the European comic strip has evolved considerably. Just in the French language along, the number of published works has increased tenfold in twenty years. This evolution has forced BCSC to revise its objectives with regard to its study library and the conservation of published works.
Since 2009, BCSC has rented space for the conservation of published works in a modern building near the Center which guarantees complete security. In this space it is gradually bringing together the first or oldest available editions of works published over the course of the history of the French and Dutch language comic strip.
The revision of the physical and digital classification systems for the BCSC collections will continue to be a major project in future years.
