Spirou passed from hand to hand (2013)

Seven years ago, we rolled out the red carpet to an emblematic hero of Belgian and European comics: Spirou, whose 75th birthday we were celebrating. A major temporary exhibition retraced the evolution of the famous bellman. His origins have given him a special destiny, as successive authors have drawn him. Spirou belongs to his publisher (Éditions Dupuis) and not to his creator.

During six months, the mezzanine of the museum invited visitors to discover his fascinating story in a retrospective imagined by Yvan Delporte and adapted by JC De la Royère. For the occasion, Spirou’s gigantic red hat that still amazes visitors today came for the first time to cap the museum's main floor of exhibitions.
