Throwback to 1997. The Comics Art Museum was proud to invite his visitors into the world of Tarzan. The famous novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, written in 1912, was one of the most prolific grounds for films, comics, theater shows and graphic arts in the first half of the twentieth century. In 1963, one out of thirty pocket books in the United States is a Tarzan book!

The museum exhibition included not only artwork by Hal Foster and Burne Hogarth, but also many original magazines, merchandising and pastiches of the series. What we most remember however is the way nature was invited into the museum building to immerse us in a tropical jungle atmosphere. Enjoy!
