Like other art disciplines such as literature or cinema, comic strip art is a mode of expression which manifests itself in many ways, through very different genres, styles and formats, for a variety of audiences.
"The Art of Comic Strip" therefore proposes to explore the comic strip in all its forms, from the creative process to the range of genres that constitute the European comic strip today.
Now: The Art of Comics… Quebec Style
For the eleventh edition of the exhibition The Art of Comics, the Brussels Comic Art Museum celebrates the international 9th Art by hosting, for the first time, a new edition featuring exclusively Quebec-based creators. Through the works of a wide range of writers and artists from this province of Canada, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the many steps necessary to create comics, the various methods to do so, and the diversity of styles within the medium. From Michel Rabagliati to Denis Rodier, from Julie Doucet to Juliette Miron, nearly 100 creators from Quebec offer a unique opportunity to explore the richness of their art at the crossroads of European and American influences—and even beyond. A wonderful opportunity to further affirm the universality of the 9th Art!
